Homecoming Themes Join in the fun! Homecoming week beings on September 22nd and runs through September 26th. Get involved by dressing up in the theme assigned for your class each day. Remember only appropriate costumes will be allowed, for example no masks, spaghetti straps, or weapons. The themes are as follows: MONDAY-Movie Day: Teachers-Shrek, 12th-Rock of Ages, 11th-Sound of Music, 10th-Jurassic Park, 9th-Despicable Me, Jr. High-Frozen TUESDAY-Holidays: Teachers-Valentine's Day, 12th-Halloween, 11th-Arbor Day, 10th-St. Patrick's Day, 9th-Christmas, Jr. Hi-4th of July WEDNESDAY-Hunger Games: Teachers-Peacekeepers, 12th-Capitol, 11th-Grubby Coal Miners, 10th-Fishing, 9th-Farming, Jr. High-Bedazzled Jewel Miners, THURSDAY-Dress-up (for example, Sunday dress clothes) FRIDAY-Green & Gold Spirit Day

Scholarship Info... 1. Show Me the Money Scholarship and Financial Aid Presentation at UNK College of Ed. Building from 2-5pm on Sunday, September 28th. Seniors this is a good presentation! 2. Juniors interested in taking the PSAT need to pay Mrs. Kaskie by Friday, September 26tth at 10:00am to reserve a test for the October 15h testing date
Homecoming Dance Tickets.. Tickets for the Homecoming Dance will be sold in the foyer after school each day this week from 3:35-3:50. Tickets are $6 this week; $8 at the door.
Key Club Meeting There will be a Key Club meeting Thursday October 2nd at lunch in Mr. Moore's room. Anyone interested in the Key Leader weekend retreat visit with Mr. Moore by October 17th.
Homecoming Dance The Homecoming Dance will be this Saturday, September 27th, from 9:00-11:30pm in Cope. No one will be admitted after 9:30pm.
Thank You A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to the Middle East collection last Thursday. We collected $478.25!
Seniors moves cars after school... We will need to have all the seniors park their cars appropriately after school Tuesday so we can use the parking lot for the volleyball game
Book Fair!! Mark your calendars! The book fair will be at Kearney Catholic during parent teacher conferences from October 21 - 23. The sixth graders will be able to visit the fair on October 20. Please contact Tammy Kluthe 308-440-2081 if you would like to volunteer. Thank you!

HOMECOMING DANCE GUEST FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE...... If you are bringing an out of school guest, the form must be returned to the school office by noon Friday, September 26.
SENIORS... All lunches are to be eaten in the cafeteria, not the foyer.
Quiz Bowl and Robotics Info Robotics - all members attend practice on Tuesday or Wednesday morning at 7AM - check with Mrs. Niedbalski if you are not sure which day to attend. Quiz Bowl - Here is the fall Quiz Bowl schedule: Thursday September 25 - Literature Quiz Bowl Wednesday, October 15 - Women's Quiz Bowl Tuesday, November 18 - 8th grade and 9th grade AMI Quiz Bowl Any students interested in being on the teams, please talk to Mrs. Niedbalski and she will keep you informed when a practice is scheduled
10th 11th and 12th graders!! 1. Seniors! Are you going to take the October 25th ACT? If so, register for the test at www.actstudent.org by Friday, September 19th! Also, get your John Baylor Test Prep username and password from your School Counselors to help you to prepare! 2. Juniors! Are you interested in taking the PSAT? It is a practice test for the SAT and the screening exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program (to qualify-students must rank in the top 98th/99th percentile on the PSAT exam). The test will be given at KCHS on October 15th. To register, bring $14 to Mrs. Kaskie by Friday, September 26th. The first 10 to register will get a PSAT practice study guide
LAST DAY FOR 1ST QUARTER AR TESTS IS OCTOBER 9TH
Elizabeth Stratton Memorial Run will be Sunday, September 28th at 5pm. The Kid's 1 mile fun run will be at 6pm. Registration forms are available in the school office. Or watch for a link on the KCHS website.
